I didn't want to get out of bed today.
I woke up around 6:30 PM and my roomie wasn't home. I texted her and she said she wouldn't be home for out walk. So, me being me, I decided to roll over and go back to bed for an hour. I kidded myself and said, "I'll wake up and do 30 minutes on the treadmill instead of the hour walking."
My neighbors had a different idea, though. They started playing mariachi music (or something very similar) and I could not get back to sleep. I also sneaked a look at my phone. Facebook told me I'd had about 10 different people like my post about working out... So I felt like I had some people to impress (thus the logic behind making me "publicly" accountable. Perform for the people, Lisa! Get a move on!).
Since I was awake anyway and there was no way of getting back to bed with all the thumping that accompanied the mariachi music, I got out of bed, changed into my leggings, shirt, sweater, and running shoes, and had two glasses of water, and headed out the door.
I took videos before and at the end of my walk today. I haven't a clue how to upload them onto blogger, though, so we'll see if they ever actually make it on here in future posts.
While I was filming the first video, rain drops decided to make an appearance. It was gloomy looking and wet and windy so I was thinking to myself that I should have grabbed a rain slicker.
Up the hill I went and on the music came. I decided to start jogging after the first hill, since I didn't want to be out anyway and thought I would get my one mile done faster if I did. I jogged for about three songs (and almost the rest of the mile) and then walked until I came to the steep hill. I jogged up that and kept left. I'd decided it wasn't too cold or windy or rainy (I hadn't felt any drops since that first video) and I could do the same route as yesterday. I jogged past the new middle school to the big hill, walked down the hill to the end of the elementary school (it would be hilarious to see me rolling down the hill in an attempted run), and then jogged the long stretch on French Street. That last little bit I really, really didn't want to do. So I ran -- I widened my strides, breathed deeper, and ran. And then I walked the rest of the way home.
It was a good jog and I'm glad a rolled out of bed today to do it. When I got home I did my planks (two times at 15 seconds), crunches (two sets of 15), and I did three variations of squats (regular, tight, and sumo -- 5 each).
And I even had time to make some banana/peanut butter/chocolate chip muffins. They turned out alright, even without flour.
Now I'm at work and just have to make it through the rest of the night. It's my Friday, after all!
TGIF!
Cheers!
